This is a story about how love happens when the heart least expects it. Gara is a hardworking but bubbly OFW who still believes in destiny, romance, and true love, while the brooding Andrew is a guy who is simply too practical and jaded to believe in the rambles of fate.
Would a seeming incompatibility keep them apart, or prove the theory that opposites do attract? How can Gara’s faith in destiny and Andrew’s indifference towards relationships help them understand and see love in a different way?

First time Filipino Skilled Workers bound for Kuwait who were affected with the ban are appealing. Most of them were crying because they suffered a lot already after the Deployment Ban was implemented. They have already resigned from their job and spent a lot of money for this new venture. Approximately 10,000 skilled workers are waiting for the ban to lift.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello explained that the deployment ban cannot be lifted until the Memorandum of Agreement or MOU will be signed by the Kuwaiti government. He further explained that they will not be secured in their job until the MOU will be signed. Finally, after 2 years of waiting, the Kuwaiti government informed labor secretary that the MOU is ready to be signed. The secretary will possibly travel to Kuwait in 2 weeks for the signing. The MOU is a very important document to protect all OFWs working abroad.
President Duterte expressed his plan of extending the ban to other countries.

In the 1970s and 1980s, a hidden gem nestled in the Philippine archipelago was quietly beginning to capture the hearts of adventurous travelers and wanderlust seekers. Boracay, a small island situated in the Western Visayas region, emerged as a paradise untouched by mass tourism. With its pristine white beaches, crystal-clear waters, and tranquil ambiance, Boracay became a refuge for those seeking respite from the bustling cities and a haven for the adventurous spirits eager to explore its untouched beauty. This is the story of Boracay during its formative years, a tale of serenity, discovery, and the humble beginnings of a tropical paradise.
The Unspoiled Island of Boracay:
In the 1970s, Boracay was a relatively undiscovered haven with a rustic charm that instantly captivated those who set foot on its shores. The island boasted unspoiled natural beauty, with its powder-white beaches, swaying coconut trees, and breathtaking sunsets. There were no concrete structures or resorts; instead, visitors found simple bamboo huts and small, family-run accommodations that blended seamlessly with the surrounding environment.
The Adventurous Pioneers
During this time, intrepid travelers and adventurers sought out the hidden treasures of Boracay. They arrived via small boats from neighboring islands, drawn by whispers of its unparalleled beauty. The first visitors were primarily backpackers, explorers, and artists who reveled in the island’s tranquil atmosphere and uncharted landscapes. They reveled in the simplicity of life, spending their days swimming, sunbathing, and immersing themselves in the local culture.
The Rise of Boracay’s Reputation
Word of Boracay’s idyllic allure began to spread beyond the confines of the adventurous few. Travelers who had experienced the island’s magic could not help but share their tales of its turquoise waters, thriving marine life, and the genuine warmth of the local people. As the reputation of Boracay grew, more curious souls were drawn to this tropical sanctuary, eager to experience its untouched beauty for themselves.
The Beginnings of Tourism Infrastructure
With the increasing influx of visitors, Boracay saw the need to accommodate the growing number of tourists. Basic amenities such as small resorts, restaurants, and bars started to emerge along the beachfront. However, the development remained low-key and focused on preserving the island’s natural charm rather than transforming it into a bustling tourist destination.
The Unique Boracay Vibe
What set Boracay apart during the 1970s and 1980s was its distinctive atmosphere. The island exuded a sense of freedom, spontaneity, and camaraderie. Visitors would gather around beach bonfires, sharing stories and laughter under the starlit sky. Impromptu jam sessions filled the air with music, and friendships were forged among like-minded souls who shared a love for nature and adventure.
A Haven for Water Sports and Activities
The pristine waters surrounding Boracay beckoned water sports enthusiasts. Snorkeling, diving, and sailing became popular activities as the island’s colorful coral reefs and diverse marine life enchanted visitors. The warm tropical winds also made Boracay an ideal destination for windsurfing, kitesurfing, and sailing enthusiasts, who embraced the island’s natural playground.
The Warmth of Local Culture
Boracay’s residents, who primarily relied on fishing and agriculture, welcomed the growing number of visitors with open arms. The locals shared their customs, cuisine, and traditional dances, adding depth and richness to the island experience. Visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant local culture, fostering a genuine connection with the community that still endures today.
The Sunset That Stole Hearts
One of the most cherished aspects of Boracay was its captivating sunsets. As dusk approached, visitors would gather on the beach, mesmerized by the kaleidoscope of colors painting the sky. The warm hues of orange, pink, and purple would reflect upon the calm waters, creating a breathtaking tableau that etched itself into the memories of all who witnessed it.
The Enduring Legacy
The 1970s and 1980s were a pivotal time for Boracay, as the island transitioned from a hidden gem to a sought-after destination for those in search of paradise. Its pristine beaches, untouched landscapes, and warm hospitality created a unique aura that captivated all who ventured there. Boracay’s charm during this era laid the foundation for the future growth and development of the island, which would eventually become a world-renowned tourist destination.
Although Boracay has undergone significant changes since its early years, the spirit of the island’s humble beginnings continues to resonate. Its allure lies not only in its stunning beaches but also in the memories, friendships, and sense of freedom that were formed during its formative years. Boracay will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have experienced its unspoiled beauty during the 1970s and 1980s, reminding us of the timeless allure of nature’s paradise.
