SONA: Ilang skilled worker, iginiit na ‘di sila dapat kasama sa deployment ban sa Kuwait Nag-iyakan

First time Filipino Skilled Workers bound for Kuwait who were affected with the ban are appealing. Most of them were crying because they suffered a lot already after the Deployment Ban was implemented. They have already resigned from their job and spent a lot of money for this new venture. Approximately 10,000 skilled workers are waiting for the ban to lift.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello explained that the deployment ban cannot be lifted until the Memorandum of Agreement or MOU will be signed by the Kuwaiti government. He further explained that they will not be secured in their job until the MOU will be signed. Finally, after 2 years of waiting, the Kuwaiti government informed labor secretary that the MOU is ready to be signed. The secretary will possibly travel to Kuwait in 2 weeks for the signing. The MOU is a very important document to protect all OFWs working abroad.

President Duterte expressed his plan of extending the ban to other countries.
