Former Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales Denied Access In Hongkong

Former Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales went off for a family vacation to Hongkong with her husband, son, daughter-in-law and two grand children. But unfortunately, upon landing at the Hongkong International Airport, she was held in a room and was denied access for entry and instructed to fly back to Philippines without explanation.

Philippine consul general to Hongkong immediately sent Philippine officials to coordinate with Hongkong immigration officers to formally seek for explanation why as to why Morales was denied access. Malacanang Palace also ordered DFA to help Morales.

According to Morales lawyer, her client was denied access because she was considered by China as a security threat to the country. This could be due the previous filing for a case at the ICC against China by Del Rosario and Morales.
